Nomar will have surgery on his injuried groin April 26th. There is no time table at this time for his return to the line up. On the bright side, Neifi Perez continues to be hot with the bat. Oh boy.  Now I'm in real trouble.  I am a National League fan.  I hate the DH, the Cubs are my real team, but I have been cheering for the Red Sox.  My Dad grew up a Cardinal fan watching Stan the Man.  I know who he is going for.  My heart wants the Red Sox, but my bond is with the NL.  It drives me crazy when the AL beats the NL in the All-Star Game or the World Series.  I guess I hope it goes

I can't believe it!  Am I going to wake up in the morning to find out it was a dream?  Sure I'm a Cub fan, but the Red Sox are so much like the Cubs.  The curse of the Bambino, forget about it.  Damon was unbelievable.  Way to come through in the most critical game of the series.

Wendell Kim was removed today from third base. I wouldn't blame the Cubs scoring problems on Kim. The Cubs had trouble getting their men to second base. It's hard to waive them in (or hold them up) when you have men swinging at the air at home plate. I think the title says it all. I don't want to blame this whole season on one person, but the position/s I see the need for change are: Sammy Sosa and relief pitching. Sosa has had a great career here in Chicago, but I believe it is time to find a replacement for him. A batting average of .253 with 133 strikeouts. 35 HR's this year, but wasn't able to do it in almost any clutch position.

Mark Prior strikeouts 16 hitters to tie his career high for a game and the only run the Cubs can generate is a HR from Sammy Sosa with no one on bases. They end up losing the game in the 12th!
