The Baseball gods Must Hate the Cubs

I'm not a superstitious person. I believe in the Christian God. If I was someone who didn't believe in God, I would have to say the baseball gods hate the Cubs.

1945 is the last year the Cubs were in the World Series. The last time the Cubs won the World Series is 1908. In 2003 the Cubs were within one out of the World Series before everything fell apart. Last year the Cubs had one of the best pitching staffs in the Majors. They had a pretty good batting order as well. What happens? Wood and Prior go down. Sammy started slamming the Cubs instead of the Ball. The Players manager, Dusty Baker, couldn't keep harmony in the club house.

Quickly come to 2005, Great pitching staff again. Prior starts on the DL. Wood is having trouble keeping the baseball behind the plate. Instead his pitched balls on landing in the stands or between players. Greg Maddux is having trouble early with the umps calling balls and strikes. The biggest blow came this week with Nomar Ripping something or other from his bone in his groin. Out 2 to 3 months. It wasn't bad enough for him to be struggling with a batting average under his weight at about .150.

Why do the baseball gods hate the Cubs? They forgave the Redsox for selling Babe Ruth to fund a theater. Why not the Cubs for whatever crime they have committed?
